5 Star Tuning 1 5 Star Tuning 25 Star Tuning 35 Star Tuning 4 How Does the Process Work? Below is a step-by-step overview of our custom tuning process:
  1. Plug in the Device Plug your device into the vehicle's OBDII port. The device will automatically power on.
    • If the device does not power on, check for a blown fuse. It should be the same fuse as the cigarette lighter and 12V accessory port.
  2. Select “Program Vehicle” Press the center button on your X4 device to select “Program Vehicle.” Follow the on-screen prompts for key cycles (turning the key on and off).
  3. Tuning Your Vehicle
    • The first time you tune your vehicle, it will take some time as the device saves your stock file in addition to tuning your application.
    • Under preloaded tunes, select “5 Star 87 RV” to load onto your motorhome.
  4. Handling “Unsupported Vehicle” Message If the device shows “unsupported vehicle,” follow the steps below to obtain your ECU strategy code and/or ECU SWPN.
    • After selecting your tune, you’ll have user-adjustable options. You can either continue with this step or skip by selecting “Approve.” Custom programming will then begin.
  5. Complete the Process Once tuning is complete, the device will display “Download Complete” and prompt you to turn the key off. At this point, you can disconnect your device.
